Description
Aussiedoodle Hypoallergenic
While no dogs are 100% Hypoallergenic, poodles are known to be one of the most tolerable dogs for people with allergies.
We can’t speak for every AussieDoodle, BerneDoodle, or SheepaDoodle out there, but our families who have allergies, tell us their F1 Doodle sheds very little and they have no allergic reactions.
A Doodle is a poodle mix (or crossbreed) typically where a poodle is mixed with another breed, in order to produce a more healthy and nonshedding version of the purebred dog.
Short-hair dogs are usually the worst with shedding and dander, while long hair dogs are known to be better. To date, no family has ever returned one of our F1 Doodles due to allergies. We have sent dozens of puppies home to families who report they have “mild allergies”, and they report no reaction to our F1 AussieDoodles, SheepaDoodles, or BerneDoodles.
Are you considering adopting an Aussiedoodle?
Here’s what to watch out for :
- The Aussiedoodle is quick-witt and fun, but easily gets bored and therefore needs plenty of attention and mental stimulation.
- The Aussiedoodle is hypoallergenic, low-to-no shedding, low dander, and doesn’t drool much. However, they need routine grooming which can be both expensive, and time-consuming.
- While the Aussiepoo is a great playmate for kids, they have a strong desire to nip, so early training is essential!
- These dogs can be sweetly receptive to your feelings and your emotional state, but they need plenty of affection and time with their human, so 9-5 workers will find this to be a difficult breed to own.

Aussiedoodle Exercise Needs
An Aussiedoodle of any size needs a good deal of intense exercise, but larger varieties need more time and space to meet their physical needs. These dogs have tireless energy about them that can be difficult to exhaust due to their great endurance.
- Teach them to play fetch
- Throw dog food or treats in the grass for them to find
- Teach them a new trick
- Provide a change of scene (walk them downtown or at the beach)
- Create a “puzzle toy” by drilling a hole in a tennis ball and stuffing kibble into it. Show your Aussiedoodle how food falls out of the ball and then give it to them.
Aussiedoodle hair shedding
While the answer to this question is yes, there is a lot more to the story. The truth is that there is no such thing as a dog that doesn’t shed. Any animals that have fur or hair will shed a little bit, even humans. However, Aussiedoodles are known as hypoallergenic dogs, which means that they shed very little compared to other breeds.
